The program is open to violin, viola, cello, and guitar students in Book 3 - 10 and above (Post Graduate). There is a separate Sibling Program for violin students in mid Book 1 and 2. An online teacher recommendation from your private teacher is not required but helps assure each student receives proper class placement.
Non-Suzuki Students
Students who have not received training using the Suzuki Method but have reached the repertoire playing level of Suzuki Book 3-10+ are welcome at the Advanced Suzuki Institute. Technique Class
These classes strengthen left and right hand techniques using scales, position, and totalization exercises and repertoire.
Repertoire Class
Students will be placed in a class at their level to polish the musical and technical aspects of the Suzuki repertoire.
Orchestra/Guitar Ensemble
All students will be placed in one of our 3 orchestras or guitar ensembles based on their repertoire level. Music is sent in advance to ensure students have time to develop orchestral and ensemble skills. Orchestra students will be assigned a specific section/part that cannot be switched. Violin students who play viola as a secondary instrument my choose to play viola in the orchestra.
Enrichment Class
All students will be placed in an enrichment class designed to broaden their musical abilities by exploring alternative styles and types of music and harmonies. The class promises to engage students in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
